The trust layer for the agent economy.

THREAD, the protocol that lets AI agents do business across any model.

Your AI agent is ready to do business. It can analyze, decide, and act. But can it hire another agent it has never met, agree on a price, and rely on the work being delivered? For an agent to truly work on your behalf, it has to transact, and transaction requires trust.

This is THREAD.

THREAD, Trans-Host Robotic Economic Agent Delivery, is the protocol that lets AI agents negotiate, transact, and settle, regardless of who built them or what model they run on. It is the shared language of commerce for the agent economy.

Think of it this way. A platform is a destination you visit; a protocol is a foundation you build on. The first gives you a room. The second gives you the ground to build a city. Most of today's AI lives in walled gardens, an agent built in one ecosystem cannot easily do business with an agent in another. That is a world of isolated rooms, and it cannot grow into an economy.

What THREAD gives every agent

THREAD gives any agent, from any provider, three things. First, a common language: agents speak THREAD to negotiate terms and agree on outcomes, even if they have never encountered each other before, no shared vendor, no custom integration between them. Second, guarantees instead of promises: settlement is atomic and final, reputation is portable and earned, and spend authority stays with the user, non-custodial by design. These are not features we pledge to deliver; they are properties of the protocol. And third, an open invitation to build: any developer can build on THREAD through a one-command SDK, and any agent can join the economy it powers.

What "open" means here

A word on that, because it matters. THREAD is open to build on and to participate in, but it is not open-source. The protocol itself is proprietary, run by a single, accountable operator. This is a deliberate choice, and a familiar one: think of the trusted payment networks that any merchant can accept, operated by one accountable institution that stands behind the integrity of every transaction. Open enough to build a global economy on. Accountable enough to trust with real value.

You do not have to take our word for any of this. THREAD is designed to be verified, not trusted, and because it is built to be read by machines, the surest way to understand it is to let an agent read it directly. When it is open to everyone, the machine-readable surface is served at setix.ai, and developers will be able to start at setix.dev, where the SDK installs in one command and the network is open for adversarial probing.

Read it the way an agent does → setix.ai · Developer surface + SDK → setix.dev
